I believe in positive reinforcement techniques and making lessons fun, at whatever level. While vocals would be the main subject of lessons, we would also cover music theory and other subjects to give you a well-rounded understanding of how to sing.
In our lessons we will focus on a wide range of techniques including:
• Pitching – singing in tune
• Developing tone and range
• Switching from chest, head and mixed voice
• Different breathing techniques
• Expanding repertoire and different styles
• Lyrical interpretation
• Understanding harmony
• Basic instrumental (piano / guitar / bass) skills
• Acting, stage confidence
• Public speech, audience interaction
• Personal development
When it comes to our lessons you are the boss, and I will make sure the programme, pace, style suits you, is challenging, yet fun and rewarding. My ultimate goal is for you be able to make your own musical decisions, improve with self-feedback and give you the tools to become your own teacher.
“Willow is an incredibly experienced vocalist and vocal coach, helping students from complete beginners to advanced learners reach their full vocal potential. She would be delighted to help you to gain confidence, build vocal strength and sing the songs that you have always wanted to”
Alongside my teaching I am an active jazz singer, running a 7-piece jazz-funk-fusion band, as well as participating in various jazz/pop bands and ensembles. I perform regularly at jazz clubs, such as Spice of Life, Jazz Cafe POSK, as well as London Jazz Festivals.
I am a strong believer that anyone can learn to sing. Often learning to sing is a balance between understanding the physical anatomy of using the voice, building confidence and learning specific techniques to build up vocal strength and tone.
I would be more than happy to teach you to sing as well, to book your first lesson or simply to find out more about my lessons don't hesitate to get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call 03458 690679.
